Most online poker sites offer free entry into tournaments where you can win money.

Ultimate Bet, Full Tilt, and Poker Stars all offer free entries into tournaments, they call these freerolls.and if you advance there is a cash prize awarded.
You must register with these sites but you do not need to have a credit card or checking account on file.

I use the .net sites not the .com sites.

Ultimate Bet .net is my personal favorite. They offer a $50.00 freeroll that is ran every few hours. You must be online when the tournament is open for registration as the tournaments fill up quickly.

Poker Stars. net is my second favorite site because they run a variety of games and have freerolls running consistently.

I also play at Full Tilt Poker.net but the freerolls they are running now are restricted so I play the sit and go tournaments. Right now they are running tournaments of 360 players. If you win you advance to head to head tournaments.

All of these sights have help sections which tell you how the games are played and to teach you the strategies to win.

I think of it as learn and earn.
