Lowball Poker

Lowball poker play differs from the normal more than just bizarre case of hands. Lowball example, the hand may deteriorate during the hand. In lowball game, a great starting hand can become an incredible garbage during the hand. This and some other factors will ensure that these games can haunt players brain for a long time.

In Lowball games lowest hand wins. The intention is to really get a very poor hand, a mere couple is already so strong that it rarely wins any pots.

Lowball games are progressing normally, cards go into showdown as any poker game. Showdown lowball game winner is determined as follows:

No poker hands order is reversed compared to the normal, ie the worst hand wins.
If the hand-solving the highest card goes to the comparison (as usually happens), comparing the hands of the biggest cards into smaller ones in progressive manner, until the difference can be found, 97654 will beat 98432.

There are different lowball-rules as how the flushes, straights and aces are counted. While the hand 65 432 is an excellent low hand in one lowball game, it is straight according to other rules, which means it has little change to win.

Lowball poker is, fortunately, a well-established two main ways to deal with straights , flushes and aces. . These games are:

2-7 (Kansas City)
Flushes and straights are counted
Ace is the highest card in the deck
Low, the best possible hand is a 75 432

A-5 (California)
Flushes and straights are ignored
Ace is the lowest card
Low, the best possible hand is 5432A

There are other ways to play lowball, such as the A-6 (ace is the lowest, flush and straight are counted), but compared to the two above mentioned they are very rare.
