"Heroic Deeds" is a card game that I have designed and I am describing step by step wikinut. This is a description of a card for the "Heroic Deeds" deck of cards of "Heroic Deeds" there are two other decks already published.

This particular concept of card based gaming is completely my own and I reserve all rights to the game although I invite you to play it freely as well as to print out as many cards as you need for personal use. Any attempt to market this game in any way must first be permitted by myself.

The card game of Heroic Deeds

"Heroic Deeds" is a card based roleplaying conceived and designed by myself. You can read all about it in previous articles I have published by clicking Here and Here.
The game is designed to be played by several players and one storyteller. I am publishing the cards for this game, one at a time here on wikinut and I invite readers to comment and make suggestions at any time.

Using the "Heroic deeds" deck of Heroic Deeds

As previously described, the "Heroic Deeds" deck is used to help the players design their heroes for the game. The cards also help determine guidelines and limitations on what heroes can accomplish. Typically, every hero get to draw four "Heroic Deeds" cards. It is possible to draw more than one of the same card. Players generally get to determine precisely how the cards they have drawn will help define who their hero is and what he can do.

Heroic shape-shifting

Being able to assume another physical from can be a valuable asset to a hero. Minor changes in physical form such as height, apparent age and the like could serve as very effective disguises. Slimming a wrist might allow escaping of shackles and binds. A hero with skill at picking locks might be able to elongate a fingernail to serve as a lockpick, sprouting wings might allow for a brief burst of flight, etc. Alternatively, full form shifting might be possible. The form of an avian such as a hawk or owl might provide a method of transportation as well as powers of observation beyond those of ordinary men. Changing into something small and unobtrusive such as a mouse or cat might serve as a very effective method of stealth and perhaps a method of escaping imprisonment as well. Some forms might grant advantages in physical combat such as the form of a lion or bear. The source of the shape-shifting ability is up to the hero as well as the extent of the capabilities is of course up to the player.

Choosing between narrow and broad and the effect of multiple cards

As with all "Heroic deeds" cards, the player must decide how narrow or broad he desires his "Heroic shape-shifting" to be. A very broad use might mean that the hero is capable of affecting small temporary shifts in form at will. Expending the card, in that case, would allow for a more extended shift such as using the shape-shifting for a disguise. Alternatively, a significant change could be obtained from expending the card such as sprouting wings for a brief flight or extending claws for a fight. Narrowing the definition of the "Heroic shape-shifting" card could be to a few specific forms or even one form. These forms should not include super-powered forms such as mighty dinosaurs or dragons. This could allow for more frequent transformation. Expending the card in such an instance could allow for special achievements with the chosen form (successfully fighting several enemies, catching a falling ally, etc.). A single use definition might allow transformation into a truly powerful form such as dragon or fiery demon.
As with all "Heroic deeds" cards it possible to draw more than one. In that case, the player can use the multiple cards to extend his shape-shifting abilities as described in the previous paragraph, Allowing for a broad use at will, with longer durations and greater effects without the need to expend a card - for example. Extending the card would then allow for accomplishing amazing feats with change or else allow changing into a significantly more powerful form.
