"Heroic Deeds" is a card game that I have designed and I am describing step by step wikinut. This is a description of a card for the "Heroic Deeds" deck of cards of "Heroic Deeds" there are two other decks already published.

This particular concept of card based gaming is completely my own and I reserve all rights to the game although I invite you to play it freely as well as to print out as many cards as you need for personal use. Any attempt to market this game in any way must first be permitted by myself.

The Heroic Deeds card game - an overview

"Heroic Deeds" is a card based roleplaying conceived and designed by myself. You can read all about it in previous articles I have published by clicking Here and Here.
The game is designed to be played by several players and one storyteller. I am publishing the cards for this game, one at a time here on wikinut and I invite readers to comment and make suggestions at any time.

Using the deck of "Heroic deeds"

As previously described, the "Heroic Deeds" deck is used to help the players design their heroes for the game. The cards also help determine guidelines and limitations on what heroes can accomplish. Typically, every hero get to draw four "Heroic Deeds" cards. It is possible to draw more than one of the same card. Players generally get to determine precisely how the cards they have drawn will help define who their hero is and what he can do.

Heroic lycanthropy

Lycanthropy is a disease where a the person afflicted transforms into some sort of animal. The classic example of this is the werewolf although other mammal forms are possible. Although this "Heroic deeds" card is similar in certain aspects to "Heroic shape-changing" it differs in that lycanthropy provides several specific added benefits and weaknesses. Generally, lycanthropes possess three possible forms that they can assume - one is their human form. In this form they are completely normal humans although they do retain certain slight hints to their animal side (like being excessively hairy...). Despite, not enjoying any special benefits in human form, the lycanthrope is still vulnerable to silver and wolfsbane. The second form is the animal form. The animal form should be essentially a healthy and strong specimen of the normal mammal. In this form, the hero gains all the natural abilities and instincts of the animal as well as an invulnerability to all normal nonmagical weapons. He also heals faster, with even severe wounds healing completely within a day. Protection from fire or suffocation is not obtained. The animal form is assumed automatically during the full moon. The third form is an intermediate form. The hero is bipedal, with an animal head and claws. Animal senses are all available in this form.

Silver tipped weapons can harm a werewolf normally and even contact with silver will cause a burning sensation. A lycanthrope will avoid the plant known as "wolfsbane" although the plant itself will not cause any true harm to the lycanthrope. Normal animals will behave uneasily in the presence of lycanthropes - in any form. Animals of the same type as the lycanthrope will be uneasy but will obey the lycanthrope as their master.

Choosing between narrow and broad and multiple cards

With most "Heroic deeds" the hero can choose between broad and narrow. With "Heroic lycanthropy" this is not an option. Having drawn the "Heroic lycanthropy" card means that the hero is a lycanthrope, capable of changing when necessary and forced to change at the fulll moon. Expending the card lets the hero utilize his powers in a heroic deed - fighting large groups of enemies, tracking a difficult scent over a distance, amassing a force of animals to aid in a quest, resisting large amounts of silver, etc. Multiple cards should allow more potential expenditures and might serve to slightly increase the power of the lycanthrope but should not provide further exceptional powers.
