Haseeb Qureshi And The Girah Scandal

By 2011, Haseeb Qureshi was known as one of the bet professional poker players in the world. Little did he know though, his poker world was about to come crashing down. During the year, Haseeb was tied to the poker scan known as "Girah" when Jose "Girah" Macedo confessed to cheating. Haseeb backed Macedo and brought the young poker player up in the ranks. The scandal eventually cost Haseeb his job at Cardrunners.com and forced him to walk away from poker forever.

The Girah Scandal changed Haseeb's career path forever. As of today, Haseeb Qureshi has never played another hand of poker. He's recently published his first book, "How To Be A Poker Player; The Philosophy Of Poker." He also relaunched his website and made $75,000 in donations to charities to start over. Haseeb admitted that he made some bad choices during the Girah incident. Even so, Haseeb took hard judgement from his poker peers.

Today, Haseeb Qureshi is in a much better place, physically and emotionally. The Girah Scandal really took a lot out of Haseeb and he could have took some wrong turns. Instead, he went away to clear his mind and focus on family back home in the U.S.A. Haseeb is now a mind coach of poker, a poker author, and truly has a bright future going into 2014. He recently announced another apology and said he just wants to start over with a clean slate. Today, Haseeb is 24 years old.
