Caribbean Stud is a card game and played on a blackjack-sized table. The game basically emerged from poker, and follows the same ranking of hands. You will have to play against the dealer, and in order to win, your hand has to beat the dealer’s hand. The player doesn’t play against other players, but the dealer only.

The Game

The game commences with each player placing a bet equal to the table’s minimal. During this time the player also has a choice of going for an extra dollar side bet for the bonus jackpot.
Each player is dealt a hand with five cards face-down.
The dealer's hand will have four cards down and one card up.
Players after looking at their cards can decide to fold and forfeit their bet or call by making an extra bet, which can be as much as twice of the original one.
After the players have placed their bet or have folded, the dealer will turn over his hand.

The dealer must have a hand with Ace-King or better, in order to be capable to meet the requirements. If the dealer does not qualify, the players are given equal money for their original bets and the next call bet is pushed, which means that nobody could win or loose the game.

If your hand beats the dealer, you will be paid even money for your ante bet and your call bet will be paid according to the following pay table:

One Pair or less: 1 to 1
Two Pairs: 2 to 1
Three of a Kind: 3 to 1
Straight: 4 to 1
Flush: 5 to 1
Full House: 7 to 1
Four of a Kind: 20 to 1
Straight Flush: 50 to 1

Like blackjack the player must deal before the dealer. This means, there will be times that you fold a hand just to have the dealer not qualify.

The Progressive Jackpot
Avoid wasting a dollar by making this bet for bonus jackpot.
If for some reason you make a decision to go for the side bet you must affirm yourself that you are entitled for the jackpot, even if the dealer's hand does not qualify. You must let the dealer know, instantaneously before they draw up the cards. Usually the dealer will take up all the cards without turning them over. So, you have to make it absolutely sure to let him know before that.

Caribbean Stud is an ideal game to go ahead with. You can try it out, but it is better to keep the side bet at a distance.
